Brings Top High School Football Programs to Rutgers for Kickoff of the 2019 Season


Rumble on the Raritan, the premier high school football showcase ​​​​​​​featured some of the nation’s top-ranked high school programs. The games took place at SHI Stadium on the beautiful campus of Rutgers University. The showcase games were played during the first three weekends of the 2019 high school football season.
The Rumble schedule was jam packed with top programs and the nation's top recruits. High school football teams from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C.,  and Florida  converged on the Rutgers campus to battle in the Inuagural RUMBLE ON THE RARITAN.

Rumble Athlete Update

St. Peter's Prep LB Cody Simon has been named to the 2020 ALL AMERICAN BOWL. Cody will be the second member of the Simon family to play in San Antonio. Cody's older brother Shayne a current (Notre Dame) LB played in the 2018 U.S Army All American Bowl.  You can watch Cody compete with the some of the top high school football players in the nation live on NBC  January 4, 2020.

On Saturday 09.21.19 St. Peter's Prep faced Bergen Catholic in a divisional rivalry game.  On the last drive of the game Cody Simon a current (Ohio State) commit forced a fumble of Bergen Catholic's QB to help cement his teams victory in a game that was a instant High School Classic!

Rumble Athlete Update

Stepinac's Kevin McKenna named Lohud's Sports Journal Player of the week.
Kevin's performance was clearly one of the best overall efforts we witnessed at the Rumble showcase. 
The Stepinac athlete played with all-around dominance and earned Player of the Week honors.
Kevin has the helped the Crusaders to current 3-0 record.

Congratulations to
Coach Darnell Grant
Coach Grant was named One of the Top 99 NJ High School Coaches of All Time

Coach Grant built a pair of Essex County programs -- Irvington and Malcolm X. Shabazz -- into state powers, compiling winning seasons in 16 of 17 years. His career record is 132-52, he was the state coach of the year in 2014 and he led Shabazz to a pair of state titles -- the historic school's first-ever championships for football. In 2019, Grant began his latest chapter, taking over at West Orange High.

Congratulations to Coach Bill Fitzgerald of Seton Hall Prep for being named the NFL High School Football Coach of the Week 

Coach Fitzgerald and Seton Hall Prep opened the 2019 season at the Rumble on the Raritan with a big win over Archbishop Carroll of Pennsylvania.


Highland Regional
back on track!

Coach Brian Leary and the Highland Tartans opened the season at The Rumble vs St. Joe's (Hammonton) with a tough loss. Since that opening week loss the Tartans have recharged the offense, defense and special teams and are currently sitting at 2-1.
Last week Highland blanked Oakcrest 48-0 playing really solid defense while getting the offense going as well.
Johnny Martin scored three times and rushed for 168 yards as Highland blanked host Oakcrest 43-0. The junior has gained 622 yards on 65 carries and scored seven TDs through three games.


UNION FARMERS 
3-0 and ranked 12th in NJ Top 20

Coach Lou Grasso and the Union Farmers opened the 2019 season with a win at his Alma Mater (Rutgers University) playing in the Inaugural Rumble on the Raritan. The Farmers are rolling into week four with a 3-0 record and focusing one game at a time. Keep your eyes on this team as they look poised for a big season.

ATHLETE UPDATE


Stepinac's Joe Carino passed the 3000 yard career passing milestone in a huge victory vs Chaminade HS. 
Joe has his Stepinac squad rolling at (3-0) as they head into one of their biggest rivalry games of the season vs. Iona Prep (3-0)
Congrats Joe and best of luck to the Crusaders

RUMBLE ON THE RARITAN


The Rumble on the Raritan rolled into it's third and final weekend with huge news.
An announcement was made that national powers IMG Academy (Fla.) and St. Joseph’s Prep (Pa.) will take the field at Rutgers’ SHI Stadium in Piscataway for a Friday Night Primetime Kickoff.
The game featured over 20 of the nation’s top recruits and was the High School Game of the Week, broadcasted live on ESPN2.
